Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever eaten. I have been making these cookies for a long time my sons all love them.

1 cup sugar
,1 cup brown sugar,
1 cup shortening ,
2 large eggs,
1 teaspoon vanilla,
2 1/2 cups of flour (all purpose flour),
1 teaspoon baking powder,
1 teaspoon baking soda,
1 teaspoon sea salt,
1 cup pecans roughly chopped,
2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet),

Pre heat oven to 325 degrees

The secret of having really good cookies is to mix all the wet ingredients in a separate bowl, from the dry ingredients.
When you combine them hand mix them only.

In mixing bowl add shortening , sugar, and brown sugar with kitchen aid mixer blend on medium speed for 5 minutes.
Add 2 eggs and continue to mix for another 2 minutes Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla mix some more. The shorten mixture should be fluffy and have lighten in color.
In a separate large bowl add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.( do not sift the flour before measuring) Then sift twice into large bowl to make sure all ingredient are well incorporated.
Pour dry ingredients into shortening mixture.
Add pecans mix by hand with wooden spoon a couple of times.
Add chocolate chips, mix again by hand, til well incorporated a couple of turns should do, making sure to scrap the flour from the sides of the bowl. Dough should look fluffy. Drop a table spoon size on greased cookie sheets, place in middle of oven, bake 10 minutes at 325 degrees. Check for browning on the edges of the cookie, before removing from the oven.
Cool on cookies for 5 minutes. This recipe make 3 dozen large size cookies. These cookies freeze well. I love feed back let me know what you think. Thanks. Update to cookie recipe
